The Founder 2020
In this wine 'The Founder' we have used all five of the Bordeaux wines. Cabernet Sauvignon is used for power, structure and aging potential. Merlot is used for rich fruit flavors and as a smoothing agent. Cabernet Franc is used for smoothing texture and adding earthiness. Malbec is used for dark rich color. Petit Verdot is used for structure and body.
It’s in the name
This wine is named and dedicated to ‘The Founder’ of our wineries, James Bogaty. Through our humble vineyard beginnings to our never ending quest to becoming Virginia’s premier family of wineries, his dedication has influenced each wine to embody characteristics of honesty, persistence, determination and meaning.
The Founder Pairing
Steak might just be the perfect complement to red Bordeaux. The boldness of Bordeaux compliments meat and the wine’s grippy tannins are smoothed out by the dish’s fat content. In fact, Bordeaux wine will taste sweet and fruity against this rich meaty backdrop.
